Welcome

Hello and welcome to my website. I am an experienced practitioner offering counselling, psychotherapy, supervision and individual and management coaching. I work in private practice in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, LS24 within easy reach of York, Selby, Garforth, Wetherby, Leeds, Harrogate, and Ripon.

I am a qualified Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapist (see the “TA Explained” link above) and I have worked in counselling and psychotherapy since 1997 with adults and young people. I also have extensive training and experience in working with couples and groups.

I originally trained as a counsellor in 1997 and went on to gain a BA (Hons) in Counselling Studies. I further developed my skills and knowledge through completing a psychotherapy training in TA, and also gained a Masters Award in TA. My breadth of experience allows me to work in a wide range of ways, using psychotherapy, counselling and coaching skills and techniques, in response to each different person who comes to me. Examples include: Shorter-term, focussed work dealing with specific issues such as anxiety attacks, bereavement or workplace problems; Coaching for confidence issues or social anxiety; or our work together could be longer-term dealing with deep-rooted personal issues, exploring repeating patterns and connections between present feelings and past life events and experiences.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help if:

  • You feel unhappy, anxious or depressed
  • You feel your life has become limited by your problems
  • You lack confidence or self-belief
  • You notice repeating patterns of difficulty in relationships, sexual or otherwise
  • You have suffered a bereavement or loss
  • You suffer from a phobia
  • You have experienced a trauma
  • You want to develop your self-awareness
  • You want to identify and fulfil your potential
